Pop singer Madonna is opening a chain of fitness centers around the world to be known as Hard Candy Fitness global gyms.
The first gym opens in Mexico City on November 29, with Madonna planning to attend the launch.
The first Hard Candy Fitness center is “a beautiful and uniquely designed 30,000 square foot space” (9,100 square meters) in the Bosque de las Lomas area of Mexico City, states the release.
A self-professed fitness fanatic, Madonna collaborated with her manager Guy Oseary, New Evolution Ventures, and Mark Matrov, innovator behind the enormously successful global chain 24 Hour Fitness, on the idea for her own fitness center, and work has been underway for three years.
Planning stages are ongoing for 10 more locations in Russia, Brazil, Argentina, and throughout Europe and Asia.
“Hard Candy Fitness will be a reflection of Madonna’s point of view and will reflect her input on every detail including music space, light, and other design cues,” stated New Evolution Ventures Chairman Mark Mastrov. “Madonna’s touch will be everywhere.”
Hard Candy Fitness will offer a range of fitness classes, such as Zumba, Latin Moves, and Cardio Kickboxing, as well include a bike studio and a climbing wall.
Cardiovascular equipment features personal viewing screens, and includes machines by PreCor, Hoist, Free Motion, Nautilus, Hammer Strength, StarTrac, AbCoaster, and TRX suspension training.
Members can indulge in a post-workout juice at the café, or relax in sauna and steam rooms.
