The result of a close collaboration between Ermenegildo Zegna and the Italian performance car maker, Maserati’s Quattroporte concept is expected to go into strictly limited edition production in 2014.

Playing with contemporary and classical design as inspiration, the interior has all the hallmarks of an executive sedan but the details are achieved using softer hues, such as mocha and greige, and with softer, more textured leathers and other natural fabrics to create a more welcoming cabin.

Outside, the car’s contrasting, reflective color has been achieved by using ultra-fine aluminum pigments that catch and bend the light, set into a gloss black primer coat and then finished with a platinum-effect top coat.

The car will make its official debut at this month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens its doors to the public on September 10 and where Maserati is expected to give more details in terms of potential cost and how many examples constitutes ‘strictly limited’.
