Celebrity Cruises has revealed that its latest cruise ships will feature a restaurant where passengers can prepare their own meals while looking out to sea.
The cruise line revealed the new “Lawn Club Grill” restaurant concept in a December 9 sneak peak of some of the new features on its forthcoming cruise ships Silhouette and Reflection.
In an industry first, the new restaurant will give patrons access to the grills, pizza-making tables, large ovens and other appliances so that they can grill their own choice of meats in the evening, alongside the restaurant’s chefs.
During the day, the Lawn Club Grill will offer lunch, interactive demonstrations and cookery classes covering subjects such as pizza-making, marinade-making and dough-tossing.
Following the success of the brand’s Celebrity iLounge computer stores and iPad art tours, the new ships will feature a high-tech place to escape called “The Hideaway,” which is designed to reflect a treehouse and features cozy lounge “nests” that guests can curl up in.
New spa-inspired suites have also been added to Celebrity Reflection, offering guests a private veranda, personal spa concierge and guaranteed proximity to the ships’ spas.
Cruise-lovers will have to wait until 2012 to enjoy the new services onboard Celebrity Reflection, although Celebrity Silhouette is set to launch in July next year.
Her launch will follow the high-profile maiden voyages of the Disney Dream in January and the Carnival Magic in May.
