If you happened to watch this weekend’s Formula 1 race set in Abu Dhabi, you may have seen a giant red structure with a huge Ferrari emblem on the roof.
It’s called Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and as you can guess, is an engineering and architectural masterpiece dedicated to the wondrous world of all things Ferrari.
Ferrari World is set to be the world’s largest indoor theme park and the first ever Ferrari theme park in the world when it opens in 2010.
The theme park features an iconic sleek red roof that’s said to be directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body, spanning 2,152,782 square feet and carrying the largest Ferrari logo ever created.
Inside, there’s 1,076,391 sq ft of space, while outside a surrounding area of 4,843,759 sq ft has been landscaped impeccably.
Twenty attractions will be included, including the world’s fastest rollercoaster which will reach speeds of 200km/h (125mph).
Another ride will rocket passengers through the roof and to a height of 203 feet to simulate the G-forces experienced by drivers in an F1 car.
The site is located on Yas Island on the North East side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland, which is about a 10-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
