Starhill Gallery hosted A Journey Through Time VIII from 21 to 28^th November in Kuala Lumpur, which saw over 125 brands showcasing their watch and jewellery creations. Apart from viewing the timepieces and jewellery being exhibited, visitors could also attend talks and symposiums to glean more information from industry experts.The event’s finale was a closing gala held in Shook! located within the mall. British classical singer Carly Paoli, who had performed at various gala dinners during the course of the event, was also at the finale to serenade guests. YBhg. Dato’ Haji Azizan bin Noordin, Tourism Malaysia’s deputy director of general planning, was the guest of honour at the event.Like previous years, the highlight of the evening was the Watch and Jewellery Awards presentation ceremony, which recognises watchmaking and jewellery achievements. Led by Dr Bernard Chong, who has presided over both the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie and the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, the panel of five judges selected the following winners:

• Ministry Of Tourism & Culture Most Revered Award – Breguet Classique 5335 Grande Complication Tourbillon Messidor
• The Judges’ Choice Award – Speake Marin Resilience

Joseph Yeoh, vice president of YTL Land & Development Bhd, YTL Hotels and Properties, expressed his pleasure at seeing the event evolve over time to “become a serious platform where leading watch and jewellery houses the world over come together to present their very best”. He also opined that A Journey Through Time will continue playing an important role to enhance Malaysia as a choice destination for luxury shopping.
