Harry Winston Reinterprets Femininity for its New Emerald and Classic Aurora Collection
Two years since its inaugural launch, the Harry Winston Emerald collection welcomes a new model emblematic of the brand’s hallmark glamour, made for sophisticated women.
The Harry Winston name is synonymous with sophistication and elegance, but beyond its obvious superficial beauty, much of Mr Winston’s passion and life’s work defines the maison today. Even in his adolescence, he made his first major sale when he identified a two-carat emerald, priced at 25 cents, which he then sold for $800. What seemed like an innocent exchange at the age of twelve turned into a lifetime legacy. Since the founding of his eponymous brand, the New York jeweller epitomised jewellery and watchmaking, making it a custom to acquire valuable classical heirlooms while giving it a modern artisanal cut without compromising its heritage appeal – with the emerald cut being his favourite.
Seemingly a nod to the favoured cut of the house, the newest addition to the Harry Winston Emerald collection retains the famous shape of the range to match the silhouette of an emerald cut. To Harry Winston, elegance and glamour are best represented in the eight-sided case. However, the namesake brand embarked on a new mission to accentuate the feminine characteristics of the timepiece. Like spring flowers in bloom, the new Harry Winston Emerald watch is now flushed in pink hues with a dainty 18K white gold case. While the fundamental design of the watch remains relatively the same, the changes are in the details. This version of the watch is designed with diamonds paving across the dial with three pink sapphires at the three, six and nine o’clock positions, while another emerald-cut pink sapphire appears as the centrepiece at 12 o’clock – a one-of-its-kind in the collection.
Those soft hues and bejewelled elements are distinctively feminine. The Emerald collection’s take on the contemporary girl boss is one who exemplifies a penchant for unique styling yet values practicality. Thus, a beautiful timepiece coupled with precision Swiss quartz movement and water-resistant feature is what makes Harry Winston Emerald the perfect accessory for the well-dressed modern woman.

The Avenue Classic Aurora plays with lines and shapes as a tribute to the Art Deco period when Harry Winston founded his namesake jewellery empire in 1932. Suffice it to say, 86 years on, Mr Winston’s designs can be recognised as true classics.
Following Harry Winston’s initial designs, the Avenue collection is inspired by all things artistic, from architecture to the visual arts of New York City. More specifically, the well- established home to Harry Winston’s flagship salon – Fifth Avenue – was translated perfectly into the case and rims of the Avenue Classic Aurora. The timepiece plays with geometrical shapes, carefully lined with diamonds and sapphires to mimic the city lights, with the iconic 50 brilliant-cut diamonds lining the sides of the rectangular case.
While the decorative elements and leather strap remains loyal to the rest of the Avenue collection, the 2018 version demonstrates dynamic movements with different sizes, cuts, and colours. Featuring eight diamond-set indexes and gold ring circling the second counter topped with 19 brilliant-cut diamonds with added luminosity from the mother-of-pearl dial, this could possibly be the ultimate lust-worthy jewellery timepiece. As if to spoil women for choice, the Avenue Classic Aurora also comes in two versions – 18K pink gold with pink sapphires and 18K white gold with blue sapphire, both with matching alligator strap.
