Achieving the Excellence of Time with Cartier’s New Watch
French luxury brand, Cartier has unveiled the new Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious Day & Night timepieces from the Pre-SIHH 2018 collection.
The Mystery Clocks, also known as ‘model A’ in the early 1910s, is a classic timepiece produced by Swiss watchmaker for Cartier, and was quite highly-sought after at that time. The design features had a rotating rock crystal disc mounted with hours and minutes hands, allowing a view right through the clock, and the mechanical movement that turned the crystal discs was concealed in the main frame of the clock.
However, the Maison has put a new spin to this reissue, which will be produced in two versions, with reference to the original Mystery Day & Night made in 1912. Most recently, French luxury brand, Cartier has unveiled the new Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious Day & Night timepieces from the Pre-SIHH 2018 collection.
Available in two versions; the first in 18K white and the second in pink gold. Both have a diameter of 40 mm gold case and share the same compelling winding crown design in cabochon blue sapphire.
The new timepiece is powered by Caliber 9982 MC movement developed by Cartier with the mystery and Day & Night features on the face of the dial, encircled by roman numerals and power reserve up to 48 hours.
The retrograde style minute display located at the bottom half of the dial is further punctuated by the blue steel hand while the outer part of the circle has a darker brown tone, contrasted by the Sun Beam pattern sitting at the bottom half of the dial.
The Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious Day & Night is priced at $63,000 and will go on sale in 2018.
