The Italian luxury house, which just opened a jewelry boutique in Beijing on December 10, has other imminent plans in the pipeline for China.

The company will debut a new retail concept before Christmas in the Village North, a shopping complex in Sanlitun, an affluent area filled with shops and eateries.

Additionally, Versace is planning to unveil another flagship in Shanghai’s Plaza 66 shopping center as well as another location in Zhengzhou, sometime in 2011.

Versace’s newly opened jewelry boutique is located inside Beijing’s China Central Place next to the brand’s flagship carrying apparel and accessories.

It is Versace’s third ever jewelry-dedicated store, joining similar boutiques in Rome and Dubai. Switzerland-based Vertime manufactures the brand’s jewelry and timepieces.

Versace has been selling watches in China via department stores for the past six years, but this is the first time that it has operated a stand-alone boutique expressly dedicated to selling its jewelry line.

More and more luxury Italian brands are expanding eastward, thanks to the rising disposable incomes of Chinese as well as their penchant for designer brands and other status symbols.
