As part of the SIHH 2013 which wraps up Friday in Geneva, Cartier presented a collection of jewelry watches based on the idea of metamorphosis.
The luxury collection, entitled Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier, brings together fine jewelry techniques and watch-making craftsmanship, resulting in multifaceted designs. This range is made up of 41 pieces, including 23 unique designs.
The watches turn into brooches, bracelets and even long necklaces. For example, Cartier designed a parrot ring that hides a precious timepiece and a watch pendant set with diamonds that can be worn as a brooch.
In terms of design, the collection drew inspiration from an animal theme. Panthers, turtles, snakes, peacocks and parrots adorn the designs mostly made in grey gold and set with diamonds and other precious stones.
