The recent Paris Haute Couture Week was both ethereal and inspiring, showcasing a series of newest styles in wedding dresses from the Spring/summer 2018 haute couture collection. Modernity has transformed traditional wedding dresses from the 19th century from austerity to a new, enchanting style that captures the most beautiful of silhouettes that often go beyond vanity and admiration.

Inspired by nature, surrealism and art, some of the trends and designer’s favourite choices to come down the runway shows featured sheer fabrics, silk, transparent effects, and precious details such as deep-cut necklines, voluminous wedding dresses, matched with impressive embroidered train and feather trains.

Very often, many shows would close with wedding gowns and immaculate mother-of-the-bride dresses, sometimes in full meringue mode, and sometimes with off-the-wall creations or future-forward designs, scroll down to browse through some of the spring/summer 2018 wedding dress trends, including Georges Hobeika’s voluminous wedding dress layers several tiers in a skirt that seems to evoke the petals of a flower for a fresh and extravagant look.
