In December 2020, London-based skatewear brand Palace announced their collaboration with Arc’teryx, an outdoor sports label to release a suite of apparel that bridge skating and hiking cultures. The transition between city and mountain environments is now made seamless with its pieces featuring some of the best technical innovations by both brands.

Fashion’s obsession with gorpcore exploded with the arrival of the pandemic as many of us were put under lockdown. The desire to return to the great outdoors reached a new peak, and many brands took the opportunity to release collections solely to feed this newfound preoccupation. For Arc’teryx, it has gone from an underground label that only a niche group knew about to a tastemaker whose products now appear on multiple celebrities.

For this capsule, it will be Arc’teryx’s first-ever fashion collaboration. The partnership celebrates the irrelevant and anarchic nature that has historically existed throughout both communities. Ranging from Gore-tex rainproof jackets, puffers, beanies, hoodies, climbing pants and fanny packs, this new collection is features dual-logos from both brands and engineered to be worn in rural and urban locations.
