Miu Miu has opened a new flagship store in Venice. The store is located in Venice’s Salizada San Moise and sells ready to wear as well as shoes and handbags.

Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the store features an entrance and large glass display window with bronzed steel fixtures that face onto the “calle”.

These elements blend harmoniously into the frame of the historic building that houses the store.

The space spans across a long single level covering a total surface area of approximately 90 square metres.

The original features of the palazzo are mixed with the classic decorative elements of the brand.

When one enters the store, its spaces are revealed gradually. From the entrance one proceeds to the area dedicated to leathergoods in which large staggered shelves upholstered in damask make for a dynamic product display.

Following, is the area that houses footwear; a small lounge lit by a large skylight preserved from the original structure.

Finally, one reaches the ready-to-wear area in which the wood, stucco and plaster ceiling and furnishings have all been preserved and restored.

The large window has been fitted with leaded glass bathing the space in natural light.

To emphasise continuity between the spaces, the same inlaid Venetian floor joins all the rooms, whilst mirrors heighten the intrigue of the three different ceilings.

There is a perfect visual harmony between the display tables, seating, counters and walls upholstered in damask and the polished steel rails that creates a light and airy environment.

The warm tones and lighting create a simultaneously intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
