The Spring-Summer 2015 ready-to-wear collection will be Christophe Lemaire’s last as creative director at HERMES.

The designer announced on Monday, July 21 that he is parting ways with the French luxury brand to focus on his own label.

Lemaire, who replaced Jean Paul Gaultier at the label in 2010, cites the growth of his eponymous label as a reason behind the decision.

“I am very grateful to Christophe for the passion with which he has addressed and enriched the expression of our house in women’s ready-to-wear,” added Hermès CEO Axel Dumas.

“Under his artistic direction the métier has renewed its aesthetic and produced very satisfactory financial results. I wish him the greatest success with his own label which is so close to his heart.”
