Phoebe Philo’s latest coup at CELINE is a literary treat: famed author Joan Didion posing in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Céline asked Juergen Teller to shoot its campaign once more and the German photographer has once again come up trumps.
The brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 images feature Joan Didion, the American author, novelist and essayist famed for her work documenting the America of the second half of the 20th century in a series of novels, magazine pieces, and non-fiction collections.
At 80 years old, Didion represents a recent vogue in fashion and beauty advertising for images that represent women from across the age spectrum.
The campaign also stars another cultural figurehead, 39-year-old French ballet dancer and choreographer Marie-Agnès Gillot, as well as emerging teenage British model Freya Lawrence.
The pieces shown off in the images include the collection’s floral prints, while Didion wears the brand’s latest eyewear as part of her look.
