MAC introduces AW15 beauty collection inspired by dogs
“Haute Dogs” is the latest high-pedigree collection from the beauty brand, inspired by the “buttery fur tones” of fashionable pooches.
Everyone knows that dogs make the best fashion accessories, but now the clever canines have gone one step further by inspiring a whole new beauty collection — specifically MAC’s Autumn/Winter 2015 cosmetics line.
“Haute Dogs” is the latest high-pedigree collection from the beauty brand, inspired by the “buttery fur tones” of fashionable pooches.
Comprising baked mineral eyeshadow compacts in fall shades, soft berry lipsticks and a whole series of “shaping powders” in various shades of beiges, peaches and golds for sculpting and contouring, the collection aims to maximize natural beauty.
It includes a trio of nail lacquers in sophisticated autumnal hues, playfully named “Very Important Poodle,” “Snazzy Hound” and “Vintage Vamp,” as well as a series of tapered brushes for the precision application of face creams, powders and eye liners.
Lip pencils, brow liners and a new “Mineralize Skinfinish” highlighting powder for face and body complete the ensemble.
To celebrate the new range, MAC has launched a multilingual website featuring stylish pups and their fashionable owners from all over the world.
Wannabe stars can publish their own “doggelganger” selfie with their pets using the hashtags #Machautedogs and #Macsbestfriend for the chance to be featured in the website’s gallery.
The brand has also put together a helpful online quiz letting readers determine their inner dog personality, as well as carrying out interviews with top fashion and beauty industry figures Kim Hastreiter, Nicola Formichetti, Katharine Polk and James Gager in which they discuss their relationships with their stylish pooches.
The MAC Haute Dogs collection is now available at maccosmetics.com, with prices ranging from $12 to $46.
