Paris-based luxury perfume house The Harmonist is not stopping in its tracks to become one of the world’s most prominent brands. A rising star in the fragrance industry, the brand has once again been nominated at the prestigious US Fragrance Foundation Awards 2022. This year, The Harmonist’s Sacred Water, from its Yang Collection, is nominated under two of its notable categories, ‘Universal Luxury’ and ‘Packaging of the Year, Luxury’.

Last year, The Harmonist was selected to be the finalist for two categories: ‘Fragrance of the Year, Women’s Luxury’ for Moon Glory, and ‘Fragrance of the Year, Men’s Luxury’ for Sun Force. This was an occasion to be remembered as The Harmonist became the first perfume house to be nominated for two luxury categories in the same year. Like the 2021 edition of the nomination, this year, The Harmonist will be competing in the ‘Universal Luxury’ category against giants of the fragrance industry like Tom Ford, Christian Dior, Gucci, and Chanel.

This year, founder Lola Tillyaeva (Till) has also received a personal nomination at the prestigious awards, with Sacred Water’s packaging, designed in collaboration with London-based Commission Studio, nominated for ‘Packaging of the Year, Luxury’.

“We are honoured to announce that The US Fragrance Foundation has recognised The Harmonist for a second year. We are a young company with an established unique philosophy that inspires and creates harmony for our customers,” said Lola Tillyaeva (Till), founder of The Harmonist.

“It is a testament to our team’s determination, innovation, and passion for fragrances to be nominated amongst some of the most well-known brands. We’d like to assure you that we’ll continue to bring passion, love, and quality to the forefront of innovation in the perfume industry.”

Before receiving the brand’s second consecutive nomination, The Harmonist was already doing well. The company’s revenue in 2021 more than tripled and the brand is expanding its distribution from five to eleven markets. Customers in Austria, Brazil, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan can look forward to olfactory delights from The Harmonist by the end of 2022.

The Harmonist and the Teachings of Feng Shui

Founded in 2016 by Lola Tillyaeva (Till), The Harmonist follows the ancient teachings of Feng Shui when new fragrances are concocted. The perfume house aims to help the wearer achieve inner peace by restoring the delicate balance between the environment and the five elements: wood, fire, earth, water, and metal.

The brand’s range of products is based on the principles of Feng Shui, embracing the aspects of Yin and Yang dualities and its constituting elements. Each scent has two different scent profiles. For example, the nominated Scared Water from the Yang Collection is described to be citrusy, marine, and floral, while the Guiding Water from the Yin Collection is delicate, fluid, and refined.

Depending on which facet the wearer wishes to amplify, the pick of either Yin or Yang differs as the scent used will enable a different effect.

Sustainability takes Centre Stage for The Harmonist

The business model of The Harmonist is built on sustainability, and it has culminated through the launch of the revamped Yang Collection in 2021. The design of its products had been streamlined, thus enabling the brand to utilise less packaging. Recyclable materials are used at every possible touchpoint, including its Pochet bottles, which customers can re-fill the brand’s best-sellers.

In partnership with renowned scent designer Guillaume Flavigny, whose works spans major brands from Elizabeth Arden to Giorgio Armani, The Harmonist uses high-end ingredients which are ethically sourced. This highlights The Harmonist’s ambition of setting a standard in the perfumery industry while still being commercially viable.

The brand’s growth, envisioned by Lola Tillyaeva (Till), is in tandem with the happenings of the world. As more attention is given to issues surrounding sustainability, the founder also wishes to contribute to mitigating the associated problem. And her passion for environmental issues is not new. Lola has always been championing such social causes. The Harmonist is the perfect platform to address the issue as the beauty industry, aside from fashion, is notoriously known for its negative impact on the environment.
