Giorgio Armani Beauty, the cosmetics arm of Italian luxury icon Giorgio Armani, is joining in with the Year of the Monkey celebrations February 8. Its palette in classic Chinese New Year colors will go on sale in January to honor this year of fire and light.

Yes we are still in Christmas mode, especially online, but it is worth looking ahead to an important festive period in Asia. While many cosmetic brands launch new collections to celebrate Christmas and the end of the year, these firms are also trumpeting Chinese New Year, which will be celebrated on Monday, February 8, 2016.

In this spirit, Giorgio Armani Beauty has created a Chinese New Year prosperity palette, which unsurprisingly is all about complexion. Inside the makeup case, decorated in big and bold red, is a compact powder to enhance your features with a natural sheer covering, which is a popular trend at the moment.

As with the brand’s autumn/winter and Christmas collections, the skin is allowed to breathe and powder is used simply to reveal the skin’s radiance and luminosity.

With this in mind, the powder in the Chinese New Year palette is a nude satin color, which suits all skin tones. Two types of pearls enrich the powder’s formula to illuminate the skin’s natural beauty.

Traditional colors inspired this enameled two-toned case: a vermilion red lid and a shiny black base for a sophisticated touch. Two Chinese symbols, representing Fortune and Luck, have been inscribed on the red top.

Inside, the outline of a monkey has been imprinted into the illuminating powder.

The Chinese New Year palette will be sold mainly in Asian countries, as well as in selected retail outlets in the US and Europe in January. In Europe it will be priced at ā‚¬85.
