Trevor Noah’s Plush Manhattan Abode For Sale
Trevor Noah’s apartment retains aesthetical elements of the Art Deco-era New York Telephone Building.
The three-bedroom, 3,600-square-foot duplex apartment in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood owned by talk show host and comedian Trevor Noah, offers unfettered views of the city and the Hudson River and has undergone thoughtful renovations since he purchased it in 2017. However, the space still maintains the original aesthetic of the Art Deco-era New York Telephone Building. Recently, it was just listed at USD 12.95 million.
The building was originally built in 1920 by Ralph Thomas Walker, who was selected “Architect of the Century” by The New York Times in 1957. In 2014, CetraRuddy transformed the structure into apartments and renamed it Stella Tower in honour of Mr Walker’s late wife. The structure is close to many of the city’s most significant addresses, including Central Park, the Lincoln Centre, and Hudson Yards, and features one of the most stunning lobbies in the city.
Trevor’s apartment on the 17 and 18 floors has a floating staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, and 15-foot ceilings. Furthermore, there is a home theatre, spacious dining area, French-oak flooring, a wet bar made of black granite, a marble fireplace, custom built-ins, suede leather upholstery, dramatic archways, fashionable lighting, a chef’s kitchen with two dishwashers, a 1,000-square-foot terrace with a heated plunge pool and built-in speakers. These are just a few of the residence’s distinctive features.
Extensive southern views are unhindered by surrounding structures, allowing the apartment’s attractive windows and spacious ceilings to receive all-day sunlight. The walls of the apartment have been meticulously polished with different textures and accents, such as hand-rubbed Cortina leather in the master bedroom, a black Fior di Bosco marble powder room with hand-applied Callidus Guild plaster walls, and wool Holland & Sherry. In the theatre room, the walls are cushioned. The kitchen is gorgeous and practical with top-of-the-line appliances, polished marble slab counters, a full wall set up as a stylish bar area, and an adjacent pantry. The French oak flooring gracefully runs around the room, creating the ideal backdrop for the entire penthouse.
South African-born and raised Trevor, 38, has seen his comedic career soar from appearances on regional talk programs to becoming the show’s presenter and writer after Jon Stewart left in 2015. Trevor just disclosed his intention to leave The Daily Show at the end of the year.
The listing agent is Nick Gavin from Compass.
