The Pacifica Will Have The Largest And Most Expensive Penthouse In New Zealand
The 1272 sqm double-storey penthouse of the Pacifica in Auckland will go for NZ$35 million and buyers have already expressed interest.
The recent boom in Auckland’s real estate market has seen the rise of both residential and commercial buildings in New Zealand’s largest urban area. Amongst the concrete jungle will lie the Pacifica, to stand out along Auckland’s skyline as one of the city’s most premium apartment buildings.
Built by Chinese developer Hengyi, a double-storey “super penthouse” on the 53rd and 54th levels of the Pacifica has been marketing for NZ$35 million, appealing to a select group of high net-worth individuals, and breaking records among asking prices of New Zealand apartments.
The Pacifica’s “Super Penthouse” will hit many new heights
“This will set a record. There’s been nothing sold like this before in New Zealand,” – Gavin Lloyd, CBRE National Residential Projects Director.
Each floor of the Pacifica “super penthouse” is set to be about 636 sqm, making the apartment approximately five times the size of an average New Zealand house. There will be four bedrooms along with a separate guest suite. Several reception areas include a formal lounge, library, media room, and fitness center with spa, sauna and steam room amenities. The chef’s kitchen will have a butler’s kitchen, along with a banquet-style dining area and celler and wine tasting room. To top it all off, the penthouse will have its own art gallery and sky garden with double-height ceiling all within the space. Up to 12 parking spaces will be available in the Pacifica’s basement.
The penthouse apartment is only complete with its stunning views from atop the Pacifica. Fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, residents will be rewarded with a bird’s eye view of Auckland city to as far as the Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf, as well as the edge of the WaitematÄ Harbour.Ā Amenities at the Pacifica include a lap pool, residents’ lounge, library, and barbecue terrace.
“It is like the old conservatory ā literally a garden in the sky that allows the new owners to bring some of New Zealandās beautiful nature indoors… The gallery space on the upper level allows the new owners an area to showcase their art collection.”Ā – Gavin Lloyd, CBRE National Residential Projects Director.
Its competitor, the SeascapeĀ on Auckland’s Customs St East, will be taller than the Pacifica at 187m, some 9m taller despite the fact that both buildings are to be 57 levels. At the asking price of “more than NZ$20 million”, the master penthouse will similarly span two floors with five bedrooms, at roughly 350 sqm. However, Lloyd is confident that the Seascape’s penthouse will not overshadow Pacifica’s.
New Zealand is a growing luxury market with Aucklandās CBD population jumping by 10,000 people over the past two years
New Zealand is well on its way as the next playground for the rich and famous, in light of the next Amerca’s Cup in 2021. Considered to be a luxury market by international buyers, the allure of New Zealand is in its remote location and natural beauty, supported by a strong tourism industry and world-class accommodation. The Pacifica will hence mark an unprecedented level of luxury accommodation in the country.
According to Lloyd, a NZ$3.5 million deposit is being sought for the purchase of the Pacifica’s super penthouse apartment, which will officially take on the market by August 2018. According to Lloyd, “people in the know” have expressed advanced interest in the property, although it will take at least two more years to complete construction of the building.
