Fast and Furious’s Director is Selling His Penthouse
Fast and Furious’s Justin Lin is selling his Los Angeles industrial-style penthouse for US$7 million.
Taiwanese-born American film director Justin Lin, best known for directing the Fast and Furious series, has put his historic downtown Los Angeles home for sale. The home was originally constructed in 1925 then converted to a living and working community in 2007. Lin has used the penthouse as an office for his production company and lives on the floor above. The penthouse is now for sale at US$7 million.
Lin’s home spans three levels with 360-degree views from its rooftop terrace. Currently offering two bedrooms and three baths, with 4,300 square feet of interior space and an additional 3,600 square feet of outdoor terrace space that can be utilised however the owner likes.
The second floor houses the main living spaces and kitchen, while the entire third floor is dedicated to the owner’s suite. Any office or creative space can reside on the first floor. The selling point of this house, aside from its industrial vibe, is that the space is extremely flexible, with multiple options for the use of the space depending on the owner’s lifestyle. The building is extremely private with an around-the-clock concierge and swimming pool.
The property is situated in the LA Arts District. As of late, there has been a recent resurgence for LA’s Downtown and Arts District with new indie restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and the revitalised Grand Central Market. The members-only Soho Warehouse opened in 2019 with a hotel, gym and two restaurants. Celebrities are also eyeing the neighbourhood such as Johnny Depp who owns several condos in the area.
The listing agents are Justin Alexander and Tab Howard of the Alexander Group, Compass, Los Angeles and Jimmy Lin of One True Loan, Los Angeles.
Other homes for sale include Pierre Cardin’s iconic Bubble Palace. The villa covers 1,200 square metres and includes 10 bedroom suites, gardens, a swimming pool and an outdoor auditorium with a view of the Bay of Cannes.
