The 30-bedroom mansion – modelled after France’s Palace of Versailles – is the latest victim of the economic downturn in America.
The house boasts its own bowling alley, roller skating rink and Olympic-sized swimming pool, and is the largest family home ever built in the U.S.
The 90,000-square-foot house was announced by Time share mogul David Siegel in 2003 but is still 12 to 18 months from completion.
The shell of the house has been completed, but all the interior work including fixtures and fittings have yet to be installed.
As well as 30 bedrooms the home would have had 23 bathrooms with spectacular views over Lake Butler, about 20 miles from Orlando.
Local estate agent Kelly Price said Ć¢ā¬ÅVersailles will probably be a house that will appeal to the uber-wealthy that donĆ¢ā¬ā¢t ever think about the issues of money.
