The Icons Of A Posthumous Designer – Vico Magistretti
A retrospective look at Vico Magistretti’s large body of work, some of which are icons in the furniture and lighting industry.
It’s been 100 years since the birth of design great Vico Magistretti (1920 to 2020); recognised for his contribution in designing a wide array of everyday objects for home environments. His most iconic objects include the āAtolloā lamp manufactured by Oluce and the āMaralungaā sofa manufactured by Cassina.
A travelling exhibition will be organised as an ode to the legendary Magistretti’s exhaustive body of work which will comprise 30,000 digital objects, technical drawings, sketches, magazine clippings, and more.

Curated by Rosanna Pavoni and Margherita Pellino with Maria Vittoria Capitanucci for the network of Italian Cultural Institutes, it will cover cities such as Washington, Berlin, Prague, Stockholm, to name a few.
For the exhibition setup, the individual Italian Cultural Institutes call on local designers and architects to enhance the itinerary with different, original perspectives and interpretations in each location.
