Designer taps in the home for 2017: Kohler presents composed bathroom faucet collection
Design house Kohler brings a new bathroom collection — Composed — that is more than just taps for your humble abode
Synonymous with refinement, minimalism and timeless elegance, the Composed bathroom faucet collection by Kohler promises to delight and impress with its unique yet comfortably familiar aesthetic. Part of the brand’s expanding global contemporary line, Composed faucets exhibit a pared down design that eliminates unnecessary flourishes and detailing, presenting a product that is clean, classic, beautifully simple, yet sleekly proportioned.
“The team has really looked for inspirations from people like Rowena Reed Kostellow from the Pratt Institute in New York who taught people about balance, about composition, about perfect proportion”, says Mark Bickerstaffe, Director of New Product Development. “In studying her work, we then really tried to epitomise that through the design of the product”,
he adds.
The focus of the collection is the single control faucet, a compact design featuring a side-mounted control introduced to maintain visual balance while conducting temperature adjustment. Two single-handle options are available, with the pure handle displaying an aesthetic simplicity paired with a delicate touch, and the lever handle cutting a striking figure of avant-garde refinement.
Benefitting from versatility and flexibility of design, the single-handle faucets also comes in a joystick style, and provides three distinctive height offerings (the Standard at 103 mm, Tall at 204 mm, and Tower at 257 mm) to complement and enhance a variety of bathroom interiors. Additionally, a widespread design is included in the line for those seeking a broader function, or for those with a preference for a more distinct aesthetic. With two main configurations, namely cross handles or classic lever handles, both designs are offered in either a deck mount or wall mount.
The full Composed collection comprises an extensive range of faucets, valve trims, coordinating showerheads and hand-showers, as well as a variety of matching bathroom accessories designed to fit seamlessly and timelessly with modern bathroom architecture. In addition to Polished Chrome and French Gold finishes, Composed features the new Vibrant® Titanium finish, an edgy, cool metallic that occupies the space between Polished Chrome and a heavier tungsten. Similar to all Kohler faucets, the collection is constructed with premium materials for reliable durability and coated with Kohler patented physical vapor deposition (PVD) finish that resists corrosion and tarnishing.
A composition of simple, beautiful geometric forms, Composed is a visual masterpiece of minimalist elegance, a concept certainly in tune with the design sensibilities of the modern sophisticate.
