Some of these emblematic items range from furniture and decorative to curtains and beds. Lamps and carpets are estimated to fetch a price value of €100-€5,000 at auction, depending on the pieces. These items have been screened by a team of experts in view of being sold at auction, of which some have about 120 years of history since the hotel’s inception.
Among some of the hottest lots for grabs, include a bathtub installed in the Ritz for the hotel’s opening in 1898, as well as furniture from the Coco Chanel suite where the legendary designer lived for more than 30 years.
This is not the first time that Artcurial has auctioned off interior pieces. When Paris’s Hôtel de Crillon closed for an overhaul, it sold off some of their most valued furniture pieces, including items from Tour d’Argent restaurant and Plaza Athénée hotel as well as Hôtel de Paris in Monaco.
