International hotel chain Marriott has confirmed the opening of three new hotels in Doha, Qatar.
The company debuted its Renaissance, Courtyard and Executive Apartment brands for in Qatar October 4, adding nearly 600 rooms to the capital city in two skyscrapers.
The hotels are located in two 48-storey skyscrapers, part of the Doha City Center Mall complex, a huge shopping and tourism complex in Doha’s West Bay district.
The luxury Renaissance hotel offers 257 rooms decorated with images of Qatari cultural art, covering 19 floors of the tower and culminating with a rooftop pool.
The midrange Courtyard by Marriott covers 12 floors and the Marriott Executive Apartment offers rental apartments across 21 floors, including a resident’s club at the top complete with lap pool, jacuzzi and views of the city.
Both hotels share some restaurant and leisure amenities at the base of the tower, including the Arabic-inspired Saray Spa and nine restaurants and bars.
“Taken together, the lodging, shopping and entertainment complex is quickly becoming a tourism hub in Doha,” said the complex’s general manager Oliver Kahf.
Marriott’s move is the latest in a series of openings in Doha expected over the coming months — journalists got a first look inside the new St Regis Doha — set to open January 2012 — this week.
The Shangri-La Doha is also set to open next year, following the brand’s other properties in Dubai, Oman and Abu Dhabi.
