Fauchon announces their first boutique hotel in Paris

The haute Parisian confectioners is launching a chain of 20 boutique hotels, with their first, Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris, set to open this year September.

Best known for their delicious and beautifully crafted desserts and pastries, Parisian confectioners Fauchon has even launched designer eclairs in partnership with brands like Lacoste, Thierry Mugler and Givenchy. Now, the famed patisserie is moving in a new direction.

Fauchon has unveiled plans to launch a chain of 20 boutique hotels, with Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris as their first venture into hospitality.

The first is set to open its doors at Place de la Madeleine in the French capital, a 5-star 54 room hotel named Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris. Designed by acclaimed architect Richard Martinet (Peninsula Paris), the property will be the inspiration of all future developments and an academy to train all teams worldwide. The Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris will be operated by FAUCHON Hospitality along with a pure Parisian player, Esprit de France.

Olivier Chauvin, the President and CEO of Fauchon Hospitality, explained, “The strategy is to establish a portfolio of FAUCHON L’Hôtel branded properties, with a goal of 20 hotels over the next decade.”

“With FAUCHON’s legacy in all aspects of the culinary industry, it is a natural next step to open our own hotels. It has been essential for us to define a concept that truly sets us apart, so we are not just another hotel brand.”

Guests at Fauchon hotels can anticipate an exceptional stay ahead of them. Mr. Chauvin underlines the differentiating, gourmet aspect of the FAUCHON hotels. Guest experience with feature an in-room Gourmet Bar — a high end twist on traditional hotel mini-bars – that will offers a selection of complimentary Fauchon products. Other key aspects include unique and dynamic food and beverage operations; an innovative and modern brand design and bold attitude; and carefully curated local experiences.

FAUCHON Hospitality intends to expand globally, across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, with priorities in countries where the brand name is better known (Europe, Japan, Middle East, Eastern Asia).

FAUCHON Hospitality’s EVP and General Manager Samy Vischel added that, “We are currently in advanced discussions for a hotel in Doha, Qatar and Kyoto, Japan, as well as with a top European player. We are in contact with a major US operating company regarding expansion in the US.”
