Two Monte Carlo Yachts Arrive at Ocean Marina
The yachts now find a new home in one of Asia’s premier marinas located in Thailand.
Ocean Marina in Thailand is seen as a prime location for yachts owners and manufacturers such as Monte Carlo Yachts as evidenced by their introduction of the MCY 86 and MC 6 yachts. This marks yet another development in the increasingly popularity in Thailand for the boating lifestyle (other than in Phuket where it is long-established).
The largest marina in Southeast Asia recently welcomed the two new yachts by MCY. In their new home, that can currently hold 380 boats that measure up to 50 meters, the yachts will join the likes of superyacht Ocean Emerald, designed by Norman Forester. Along with the yachts, the marina also features a hardstand, dry storage, travel lifts with a maximum capacity of 75 tons as well as onsite accommodation and restaurants.
The reason for such a location is simple. The marina is just an hour away from Bangkok, close to U-Tapao airport and also has easy access to sailing grounds in the Gulf of Thailand, from Pattaya to Koh Chang. Other potential areas that can be explored from the marina are the untouched cruising grounds of Cambodia. As the home of the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, the marina in no stranger to accommodating to yachts and superyachts such as those that MCY is known for.
“We were very happy to welcome Fabrizio and his team to Ocean Marina recently – the first time he has visited this region. I’m sure after seeing the onshore facilities first hand and the offshore cruising potential, he can appreciate why the two new Monte Carlo Yachts, and many more luxury yachts, are basing themselves here,” said Scott Finsten, Harbour Master, Ocean Marina.
