SuRi Tops Australian Superyacht Rendezvous’ Biggest-Ever Line-up
The 63m SuRi raises the bar for annual superyacht gathering on Gold Coast, which will host Australia’s largest-ever display of superyachts
The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous is set for its biggest line-up since its inaugural edition in 2017 following confirmation of the 63m expedition motoryacht SuRi for this year’s event, which will be held at Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard (GCCM) from May 17-18.
To date, the line-up of yachts for charter or sale includes Aurora, Atao, Beluga, Corroboree, Emerald Lady, Ghost II, Karanita, Lady Pamela, Masteka 2, Patriot 1, Silentworld and Sophia along with foreign-flagged yachts Little Blue and SuRi. A further seven superyachts will join the line-up.
Trenton Gay, CEO of GCCM and organiser of the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous, said the event will showcase over A$200 million worth of the finest, most luxurious superyachts in Australian waters.
“Australian Superyacht Rendezvous will present the most comprehensive and impressive assembly of superyachts ever seen in Australia and it’s an exciting coup to have a renowned international vessel joining our line-up of stellar Australian based yachts,” Mr Gay said.
Originally from the USA, SuRi is a 208ft expedition yacht that alternates cruising in the South Pacific-Fiji region with South America. It is equipped with a massage room, helicopter, sea plane, jacuzzi, gymnasium, helipad and a full play-mode toy box of waverunners, jetskis, kayaks, dive equipment, dune buggy, hovercraft and waterskis.
Silentworld is valued at US$11.2 million and will be represented for sale at the event by Fraser’s Sydney-based representatives, while Masteka 2 is back for a second consecutive year and for sale at A$12 million.
Gay added that while some of the yachts had participated in Australian Superyacht Rendezvous previously, Atao, Beluga, Ghost II, Karanita, Little Blue, Sophia and SuRi are all making their first-ever appearance;
“These yachts are some of the busiest charter vessels in Australia and it is fantastic for them to take time out of their busy cruising schedules and even cruise interstate to be at Australian Superyacht Rendezvous and help us demonstrate the calibre of superyachts in Australia at the moment,” he said.
The newest event partners include Ahoy Club, Carter Marine, Fraser, Hayman Island Estates, Hill Robinson, Luxury Lodges of New Zealand, MEC Yachts, Ocean Alliance and Sealegs.
With more than 40 sponsors and event partners on board, platinum partners include Adagold Aviation, Benetti and GCCM while gold partners include Ahoy Club, Aurora Global Logistics/Peters & May, City of Gold Coast, Hardy Brothers, Hayman Estates by Mulpha and Seal Superyachts.
The annual event showcases the Australian superyacht industry, its capabilities and economic potential along with the country’s destination appeal, marking it as a uniquely intrepid travel destination for superyacht charters for luxury holiday-makers.
