Billionaires and other fans of seagoing style will be hanging out in Monaco this week to shop for superyachts like the Silver Fast, a sleek, floating luxury hotel that comes with an outdoor cinema, sauna, beauty salon, gym, and helipad for the price of US$88 million.
At the 25th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, 121 superyachts with a total value of $3.3 billion will be on display for the 33,000 visitors who will be in the tony principality shopping for the latest water toy.
One of the stars of the show will be the Silver Fast, a sleek, silver bullet of a vessel singled out by Boat International as the most anticipated launch and the biggest new superyacht of the show.
Stretching 77 meters in length, the yacht can sleep 18 guests in eight cabins and reaches top speeds of up to 29 knots.
The vessel from Australia-based SilverYachts, is billed as the world’s largest and fastest aluminum motor yacht, with conventional propulsion in terms of length to speed ratio.
For the yachtless layman, however, it’s the interior features that offer the most wow factor. The sun deck, for instance, comes with an outdoor movie cinema and a glass-fronted eight-person jacuzzi.
The beach club comes with a full spa, including sauna, steam room, gym, massage room and beauty salon.
A bit chilly? No problem. The ‘winter garden’ is built with wraparound sliding glass panels for indoor, terrace dining.
And because, ‘what’s a superyacht without a place to park your helicopter?’ there’s a spot for that too.
Last week, in a collaboration with Mercedes Benz, SilverYachts aired a promotional ad at the Frankfurt Motor Show, showing the luxury car parked on the yacht’s helipad as the vessel sped across the waters at 20 knots.
