The Sanlorenzo SD126, the flagship of the Italian yard’s semi-displacement range, will be among the Asia premieres at the ninth Singapore Yacht Show (April 11-14) and one of the biggest yachts on display at almost 38m in length.

The Sanlorenzo SL86 will also make its show debut in Asia and sit beside the SD126 in a display organised by regional dealer Simpson Marine, which will be working with multiple brands at the show.

Sanlorenzo Asia will also reveal details about its new collaboration with Steve Leung Design (SLD), which offers new Asia-focused interior options for the SX88 crossover models.

Having previously collaborated on the Sanlorenzo SL106 Asia Edition in 2016, Leung has created a new layout and two interior themes for the SX88, which was introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017.

SLD – which is headquartered in Hong Kong and has four branches in mainland China – has designed the saloon as one open space to emphasise the large windows, with the forward dining area visually connected, yet separated.

The lower deck has an impressive master suite, one VIP Suite and the option to add a twin cabin, and further configurations are possible as with all Sanlorenzo models.

SLD is offering two interior design schemes. Breeze/Zen features blue
and emerald-green shades, and deep furniture with textured fabrics to create a calming atmosphere. Vermilion draws inspiration from circular shapes and bolder colours, with reds and oranges offset by creams and beiges.

“Following the great success of our first collaboration with Sanlorenzo, I am elated to join forces with Sanlorenzo and Simpson Marine again,” said the Hong Kong-born Leung, who won the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award in 2015.

“By adopting a contemporary
design style infused with the finest details in forms, lines and colours, we hope to establish another new take on yacht design through an integration of international lifestyle with local cultural features, and a balance of aesthetics and functionality, suitable for the needs of the Asian market.”

Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager, added: “Steve is a keen boater and has a deep understanding of how clients in the region use their yachts and the functions they require. This is clear to see in his ability to break the mould, yet design a yacht that is practical to use and perfect for the market in Hong Kong and the rest of Asia.”
