Penang RendezVous Returns to Straits Quay in October
The lively Penang RendezVous will return to Straits Quay Marina from October 11-13, showcasing luxury yachts, cars, watches, property and fashion.
Malaysia will be in the spotlight in October when the Penang RendezVous returns to its iconic location at Straits Quay Marina, which hosted the first edition last July and will again be dressed up for a parade of high-end yachts, cars, property, watches, jewellery, art … and guests.
Billed as ‘Malaysia’s luxury lifestyle event in a nautical environment’, the second Penang RendezVous will be held from October 11-13. The inaugural edition featured 20 yachts, a seaplane and a large range of supercars, with 3,000 VIP guests – including the Malaysian Minister of Tourism – attending over the three days.
Event organiser Asia Rendez Vous is confident of building on the first edition, while maintaining the show’s stylish blend of luxury goods. Potential additions to this year’s Penang RendezVous include a jazz band each afternoon, a VIP Lounge with whisky and cognac exhibitions and tastings, a cigar selection, champagne and fine wine tastings, plus cocktail preparation demonstrations.
“We’re excited about the second Penang RendezVous because the first one was a success and yet there’s so much to grow and build on. The luxury yachts will capture attention on the water, the supercars and classic cars will be the wow factor on land, and there’s much more. We even had a seaplane last year, so we’ll see what we can unveil this year,” said Olivier Burlot, Director of Asia Rendez Vous.
“There will also be luxury watches, properties from across Asia, fashion parades – which were such a success last year – fine wines, top whisky, gourmet food and fantastic live music from bands and DJs. It has really got everything in an amazing location at Straits Quay Marina in Penang, one of Asia’s most iconic, historical cities.”
Participating yacht dealers in last year’s Penang RendezVous included Penang-based Pen Marine, which displayed motoryachts from British builder Princess and France’s Prestige, a powercat from South Africa’s Leopard and a sailing yacht from French yard Amel.
Simpson Marine, Asia’s largest yacht dealer, showcased models from UK’s Sunseeker, Italian brands Riva and Monte Carlo Yachts, and Beneteau of France, while Singapore-based Hong Seh Marine displayed motor yachts from Italian brands Ferretti Yachts and Cranchi.
