Luxury yachts in Asia: Galeon debuts the 460 Flybridge and 500 Fly in Thailand and Hong Kong

The Galeon 460 Flybridge yacht makes waves in the Asian market with a debut at the Thailand Yacht Show

The much-anticipated Galeon 460 Flybridge yacht has finally made its Asian entrance at the end of last year. A brand-new model based on the innovations of its bigger brother, the 500 Flybridge, the 460 FLY arrived in Singapore on November 29, where it spent two weeks for commissioning, importation and registration under a Thai flag.

Eventually making her in-water showcase at the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS), held from December 15 to 18, the 460 FLY marks premium European yacht builder Galeon Yachtsā€™ first foray into Thai waters. Garnering immediate interest with hundreds of visitors trying out this 46 ft vessel, senior broker Paul Stamp is currently following several serious leads. The 460 FLY has also achieved success in the charter business, venturing on her very first charter from December 19 onwards, and operating a total of 21 days out of 24 days available, despite some bad weather in Phuket over the New Year period. Celebrating a successful launch with positive performance reviews from owners, clients and agents, the team at Asia Marine expects to see continued charter growth as well as greater participation in the companyā€™s three- part fractional ownership initiative.

The larger Galeon 500 Fly is also making news in Asia, having officially arrived in Hong Kong. The award-winning yacht is now available in the city-state. Featuring a brand new hull and spacious interiors on all three decks, this 16.2m powerboat boasts a 725 hp engine and a maximum load of 4,270 kg. Fitted with custom teak and high gloss Caravaggio throughout, the yacht offers a powerful hydraulic bath platform that allows for a range of engaging water sports possibilities. In addition, a unique beach mode feature enables the extension of the width of the cockpit to almost 5.8m by dropping down both port and starboard sides. The latest of the Galeon range also has flexible design options, providing owners with the opportunity to select from three distinct aft configurationsĀ and customise their flybridge space. With access to three spacious cabins and two bathrooms that cater to up to six people, as well as an outdoor bar and comfortable saloon suitable for entertaining, the 500 FLY bears all the trappings for a relaxing trip on the seas.
