Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric yacht’s avant-garde design offers a novel approach to living on a yacht

Sep 06, 2018 | By Joe Lim

The Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric is a sight to behold. Not only is its levathian form striking, its profile will leave jaws agape. This unique craft will make its debut at upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival (11 to 16 September). Sanlorenzo Asia represented by Simpson Marine is delighted to announce the sale of the new Premiere 2018/19 model called the Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric. An in-house sale with the owner represented by Nick Stratton of Sanlorenzo Asia.

This brand new design was presented to the market for the first time in May 2018 at the Sanlorenzo 60th annniversary celebrations in La Spezia and has the distinction of being the first asymmetrical yacht in the world. The goal of this innovative out-of-the-box design was to provide guests with more usable living areas on the main deck and provide better access to the crew between the stern and the bow when docking.

The layout of the Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric is the work of reputed car designer Chris Bangle with the design developed by the team at Studio Zuccon International. At first glance the Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric is a true Sanlorenzo design, with its signature elegant, streamlined and balanced profile, but when looking closer it becomes apparent that this design is unique – each side is different. One side deck is located on the starboard side with a wide body design to port, and this approach adds an additional 10sqm to the yacht’s already generous interior space. Added benefits of this layout include increased functionality for crew, with easy movement and safe operations around the yacht.

“Momentum with Sanlorenzo is building rapidly throughout Asia Pacific, which is no surprise as it was simply a matter of time for clients to recognize the leap in quality and craftsmanship that comes with a Sanlorenzo Yacht. The brand appeals to experienced yacht owners wanting a beautiful yacht but also a reliable one designed as they want it and built to stand the harsher environments of Asia. The appeal of the three unique lines in the yacht class >126ft, SD, SL and SX means there is a yacht suitable for all requirements”, says Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager.

Thanks to the large amounts of space for her size, and ambitious design that connects indoors and outdoors seamlessly, the Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric has already proved itself as another success story for Sanlorenzo with several units already sold, before her official premiere. Already a common phenomenon with Sanlorenzo new models and extremely high repeat customer rate.

The yacht will arrive in Singapore in early 2019 and will be presented as Asia Premiere at the Singapore Yacht Show 2019. At the moment, Sanlorenzo yachts and superyachts are already based in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, with new exciting arrivals expected next year and including the superyacht 500EXP, the new SX76, SX88, SD126 and SL102 among others.

Next stop for Sanlorenzo Asia is the Cannes (11-16 September) and Monaco Yacht Shows (26-29 September) assisting guests from Asia and presenting them Sanlorenzo’s fleet of yachts. To meet the team at the shows please contact sanlorenzo@simpsonmarine.com.
