The all-new Aston Martin Vantage
Rankin brings his vision to the new Aston Martin Vantage
2018 Aston Martin Vantage Beautiful Won’t Be Tamed
Aston Martin has finally made a global debut and revealed the much awaited, all-new Vantage with an impressive portfolio of imagery and film by Rankin, one of the most influential photographers of our generation.
To introduce the V8 engine, the brief to Rankin was to capture the new Vantage as the archetypal hunter whilst staying true to the brand’s ethos of ‘beautiful won’t be tamed’
Pictured above, Rankin has a brilliant way of capturing the car as art; he emphasised on bringing out the primal, predatory character of the car, with a shoot that involved bringing a wolf into the studio and projected a stark and beautiful contrast with the form of the car.
The whole artful illustration translated from being just pure imagery to a real-life model car, showing the new Vantage can be beautiful in motion as it is at rest, and how the sports car has been shaped through racing, exemplifying its formidable performance heritage.
Portraying a New Design Language in the 2018 Vantage
The new Vantage is going to be an eye-catching sports car for Aston’s fans as the luxury sports car is constructed to portray a bold and distinctive design language – those of pure, sculptural forms that outlined the athletic exterior, while the front and read overhangs and its muscular flanks show a broad haunches to express the agility and dynamism inherent with the interior of the car.
“The Vantage is instinctive. It’s unadorned. Stripped of armour. Raw and focused.” – Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer.
Inspired by the language of the DB10 and evolved from a beautiful and dramatic new signature form from the previous Aston Martin Vulcan, the traditional grille was removed for the Vantage car model. Instead, new heads and tail lights were fitted to give the sports car an unmistakable road presence.
In addition to the new outlook and unrivalled car performance, the new Vantage will further contribute to a strong and individual identity within the growing Aston Martin model range.
