The Mercedes-AMG GT R – or the ‘Beast of the Green Hell’ – promises to be the more hardcore sibling of the Mercedes-AMG GT, according to the German automaker.

Ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed June 24, Mercedes has released a series of teaser images and a video (below) that will undoubtedly get a lot of petrolheads excited. Rumors abound that the striking green car’s twin-turbo V8 will produce 570hp – a significant upgrade from the base GT’s 462hp – and has the potential to produce an impressive lap time at the notorious Nürburgring racetrack. Little else is known about the car; Mercedes has been careful about revealing too much about the car’s capabilities.

We do know, though, that this sports coupé will be brutally fast, and will probably be the meanest AMG GT that can legally take the roads.
