Salon Privé Celebrates Lamborghini Extravaganza
The Concours D’Elegance event will see some of Lamborghini’s most famous and best examples gathered at Blenheim Palace.
This year’s Salon Privé looks set to be a Lamborghini extravaganza. Held from 1 – 3 September, the most exclusive automotive garden party in UK will celebrate some of the Raging Bull’s most outrageous modern and vintage cars over the years, with more than 65 of the world’s best classic cars and 20 exceptional motorcycles on display at the grounds of Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, England.
Overseen by classic car expert Max Girardo and Le Mans legend Derek Bell MBE, who will also serve as master of ceremonies and chief judge respectively, the Concours D’Elegance event is hyped to be one of the best in 11 years. “It’s a genuine honor to be asked to present the concours cars on judging day, particularly given the exceptional quality on display,” said Girardo. “Cars like the Villa d’Este-winning Maserati A6 GCS and the Ferrari 500 TR Spyder are amongst the finest cars to be shown anywhere in the world.”
You can expect to experience some of the finest examples of Lamborghinis. Besides coach-built pre-War classics and European grand tourers from the 1950s to 70s, the show will also have a category specifically for perfect examples of the Miura, as the original supercar celebrates 50 illustrious years. The show will also debut the Lamborghini Centenario (main image) for the first time in the UK. The special edition hypercar is a tribute to the company founder Ferruccio’s centenary, and only 20 examples of this car were produced, all of which have already found homes.
“It perfectly reflects Ferruccio Lamborghini’s passion for high performance without compromise,” said event organizer David Bagley. “We’re immensely proud to premiere such an important car at Salon Privé this year.”
As with Pebble Beach, Salon Privé will also serve as an automotive retrospective, while featuring brand new cars and concepts. Modern cars such as the Bristol Bullet, Koenigsegg Agera RS and Morgan UK 1909 Edition EV3 will make either their global or European debut at the show. To end the three-day affair with a bang, 68 classic and collector cars are set for auction at a Silverstone Auctions event. Besides a 1968 Shelby GT500 and 2016 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster (with delivery mileage only), the auction will also see the best right-hand-drive example of the Citroen DS in existence (or so they claim).
