And this increased performance comes with a $330,000 price tag and… you won’t be able to drive it on the road — it is not street legal.
Then there’s the cabin, which in the road-going car is a clean yet very comfortable place to be but it the Sprint is a truly minimalist experience.

It has an FIA-approved roll cage, lightweight racing seats and six-point harnesses. However, aware of how much heat is generated when racing, McLaren has left the air conditioning system untouched but has added an integrated fire extinguisher system.
Each vehicle can be adapted for the driver and his or her driving style. For instance the car can be specified with or without a passenger seat, with a plastic windscreen to save weight and with special aerodynamics packages.
The street-legal version of the car is capable of going from 0-62mph (100kph) in 3.0 seconds, from 0-124mph (200kph) in 8.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 204mph (329kph). Expect something even faster still.
The 650S Sprint will make its official debut at Pebble Beach in California this week alongside the eagerly awaited track version of the McLaren P1.
