Fast & Topless: The All-New DB11 Volante
Aston Martin to reveal the all-new DB11 Drop Top for Outdoor Car Enthusiast in 2018
Renowned automobile maker, Aston Martin, is set to impress even the hardened die-hard top coupe drivers with the unleash of the all-new bespoke DB11 Volante Convertible in 2018, which has been quite an anticipated wait, dedicated to outdoor car enthusiasts.
The DB11 Volante open-top Aston Martin takes design reference from its predecessor [the DB9 Volante], with the new version coupe featuring an open car top and the four cylinders in the engine that formed part of the main profiles of the DB9 car model will be removed.
To strike a perfect balance between engineering and tasteful design, DB11 Volante highlights a new body style constructed from a lightweight bonded structure that is 26kg lighter and five per cent stiffer than the DB9 Volante.
As seen in the interior, are very smart touches of craftsmanship highlighting the wooden veneer that embellishes the seat backs, and revealing to the outside world that subtle touch of class, each time the fabric drop top lowers down.
In addition, the DB11 Volante’s blend of strong lines and alluring exterior complementing an uninterrupted view will provide both the driver and passenger a greater sensory cruising experience on-the-road.
For many generations, Aston Martin’s range of cars has left a long-lasting impression on many of Aston Martin’s customers through its unique offerings that exude a unique character of one such luxury supercar, exemplified by the state-of-the-art innovation and stunning athletic appearance.
Fuelled by the brand’s ethos to “retain the structural and dynamic integrity” and while working around the challenges by “maximising the advantages” said Max Szwaj, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, Aston’s DB11 open-top coupe is powered by a 510hp V8 engine rather than a velvety smooth V12, with four litre twin-turbocharged petrol engine.
The new DB11 is capable of delivering that “power plus three very different driving mode setups and an eight-speed paddle-operated automatic transmission, not to mention the limited slip differential with torque vectoring,” according to Aston Martin.
What’s eye-catching about the DB11 is the ISOFIX seat attachment points and the hood. The roof drop takes just 14 seconds to lower and about 16 seconds to raise even when driving at speeds of up to 31mph, with a 31mph headwind.
To encapsulate the brand’s engineering spirit at its best, Aston puts its DB11 to the toughest test – the steering wheel is heated and the fabric roof made up of eight insulating layers has been tested to destruction; first in weather chambers and then in Death Valley and around the Arctic Circle.
“The new DB11 Volante captures those qualities perfectly and promises the kind of pleasure and enjoyment that can only come from driving an open-top Aston Martin.” – Dr Andy Palmer, Aston Martin CEO
With all the elements in place and the unrivalled performance car engine taking centrestage, the new Volante convertible car is set to join the ranks of the open-top sports GT car market to prowl the streets and live up to its reputation of one true luxury supercar.
Prospective car buyers, who are looking to secure the new Volante, the prices start at £159,900 in the UK, €199,000 in Europe and $216,495 in the US, and will schedule for delivery in early 2018.
