The Evora 400 gets the special edition treatment yet again, this time to commemorate 50 good years at the Hethel factory in Norfolk.

Unsurprisingly named the Evora 400 Hethel Edition, the version sees the British manufacturer’s fatest car receive a paint job upgrade, in “exclusive heritage” tones of Essex Blue, Motorsport Black and Racing Green. The interior gets a refurbishment in either red or black leather, or Formula One standard Alcantara interior trim. Forged silver alloy wheels, contrasting brake calipers and the graphics set are also part of the deal, as with a build plate inside, because what’s a special edition without one of those?

Performance-wise, this limited edition remains the same. The 400 in its name is derived from its horsepower, courtesy of an upgraded Evora S 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine. Around the Hethel track, the supercar races up 60mph in 4.1 seconds and hits a top speed of 186mph, claiming top spot as Lotus’ fastest car yet.

This special edition is a £3,500 hike over the standard at £75,500 but we think the upgrades and bragging rights are well worth the top-up.
