Bulgaria has recently entered the European Union and Brussels has put some pressure on the country’s officials to fight harder against the corruption and organized crime.

Therefore, the Bulgarian revenue agency said it will strongly investigate the sources of income of the Bentley owners, suspected to be mafia bosses.

There are 105 Bentley owners in Bulgaria, which is very high compared to other European countries.

“It turned out Bulgaria is one of the countries in Europe where the number of registered Bentleys is…very high,” said Rossen Bachvarov, the country’s National Revenue Agency spokesman.

“There is nothing wrong if one has a Bentley as long as they have paid their taxes.”

The statement made no reference to whether the owners of other up market cars would be investigated.

So if you are a Bulgarian Bentley owner, get your papers in order, otherwise you are most likely to go to jail : )
