Aston Martin is to bring the V12 Vantage — the most powerful sports car the brand has ever made — to the US, it announced May 10.
Although Aston Martin had not originally planned a US version of the car, it says that unexpected demand forced a reconsideration of the decision.
A specially-modified version of the car is now to go on sale in North and South America later this year, although prices are unconfirmed.
The Americas edition of the V12 Vantage will be sold in a hand-painted limited edition Carbon Black finish, with gloss black alloy wheels and a hand-stitched black and silver leather interior.
Front parking sensors and the Aston Martin 700w Premium Audio System, which are optional on the European models of the Vantage, are included as standard.
It will retain the Vantage’s 6.0-litre V12 engine, which delivers a top speed of 305 km/h and a 0-100 kp/h time of 4.2 seconds.
Earlier this year, the V12 Vantage was judged Supercar of the Year by Wheels Magazine, beating stiff opposition from the Jaguar XKR and Lamborghini LP500 Valentino Balboni.
