Next year marks the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin, and the company plans to celebrate by launching some sort of special-edition centenary car.

The unique car should be a version of the current DBS coupe (pictured) with its 5.9-liter V-12 engine pumped up to 550 hp, compared to 510 hp in the standard model.

“This will be an entirely new model,” Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez said. ā€œWe have to do something remarkable to mark our centenary.Ā It wonā€™t be a DB9 with a Centenary Edition badge and it wonā€™t be a limited edition like the One-77 supercar.”

The firm’s head of design, Marek Reichmann is currently putting the final touches to this Centenary model, which will be unveiled this summer.
