Just days after Porsche unveiled its new 911 Cabriolet at the Detroit Motor Show, the German car-maker has released the first pictures of the 2013 Porsche Boxster.
The interior design offers the driver and passenger more space and reflects the new Porsche outline, while the distinctive center console further improves ergonomics.
The latest Boxster is said to be considerably lighter than the previous version, and uses a revised chassis and direct injection flat-six petrol engines.
Despite the engine capacity of the entry-level Boxster dropping from 2.9 to 2.7 litres, power increases by 10bhp to 261bhp.
The Boxster S retains its 3.4-litre capacity, with power increased by 5bhp to 311bhp.
Both engines drive the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with Porsche’s seven-speed PDK twin-clutch gearbox an option.
Pricing has been set at $50,450 for the base model, which includes the $950 destination charge. The Boxster S is priced at $61,850.
