Cirrus Design Corporation announced that “Cirrus Vision SJ50” will be the new official name for its single-engine personal jet, formerly known as “The-Jet“.

The name “Cirrus Vision SJ50” represents a natural extension of Cirrus’ vision to build the ultimate personal transportation machine,” said Cirrus CEO, Alan Klapmeier. “With the Cirrus Vision we are providing an entirely new transportation option for personal and business travel. It is a smarter, simpler and more efficient way to travel and holds the unique promise of redefining general aviation.”

The Cirrus Vision is an all new personal jet that blends the best of both the high performance single-engine class and the very light jet category.

Unsurpassed interior space, single engine fuel efficiency, flexible seating option of five plus two, state-of-the-art advanced avionics and flight systems and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System are each hallmarks of the new design.

The aircraft is technologically advanced, yet designed and engineered to be simple to fly, just like the company’s best-selling SR20 and SR22 piston aircraft.

Cirrus is currently taking $100,000 deposits for the jet.
