British Airways has invested £100 million in their new first class cabin being installed on a B777, which flies from London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare
Simply named First, the new cabin based on “classic design and understated luxury”, influenced by premium British automotive brands.
Key new features include a personal wardrobe, a 15-inch in-flight entertainment screen, a leather-bound writing table and personal electronic blinds.
Seats are 60 percent wider at the shoulder and the lighting system is designed to recreate the subtlety of natural light throughout the day to help you feel more relaxed.
The project was led by BA’s internal design team, with assistance from luxury design agencies Forpeople and Tangerine.
“We have contemporised first and created an intimate private jet experience onboard,†said British Airways head of customer experience Mark Hassell.
“We have resisted gadgets and gimmicks and focused instead on simplicity and quality. Every feature has been carefully considered and researched to ensure we are giving our customers what they want.â€
The carrier has chosen Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz to be the face of its first class cabin marketing campaign.
