The Dow Jones has sunk below 10,000, Wall Street is in turmoil and big banks are disappearing. But that hasn’t stopped Neiman Marcus from mailing its much-anticipated annual Christmas Book catalog this week.

From high-end cars to custom sculptures, The 82nd edition of this world-renowned book is full of fantasy gifts. The most expensive item this year is the Three Chimneys Thoroughbred Racing Package, which is priced at $10 million.

Some of this year’s other extravagant gifts include His and Hers life-size Lego sculptures, a Dallas Cowboys Texas Stadium end zone, the M-Velope transformable structure, and medieval and Renaissance-era rings. Also, this year’s featured car is the Neiman Marcus limited-edition 2009 BMW Individual 7 Series sedan.

Fantasy gifts, along with life-time memories, are also for sale, including a platinum wedding at an exclusive beach side resort. The turnkey wedding includes a custom-designed dress by Carolina Herrera, up to 40 private ocean-view guest villas and all the other wedding must-haves. The wedding destination packages are all customized – one size or price will not fit all, so the starting price is $1.3 million.

Each year, the store selects the fantasy gifts from the thousands of suggestions it receives from customers around the world. First published in 1926 as a 16-page booklet, the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book was initially intended as a Christmas card to the store’s best customers.
