Crown Royal Introduces Regal Apple Flavored Whisky
Diageo has officially unveiled a new flavored extension to its Crown Royal Canadian whisky brand, Regal Apple.

After flavoring its whisky with maple syrup a few years back, Canada’s Crown Royal has come out with another new twist, adding the flavors of apple to its whisky blends.
It’s not a completely outlandish concept: Think apple cider and Calvados, an apple brandy produced in the Normandy region of France.

To produce the apple-flavored whisky, Regal Apples are soaked in a bath of water and alcohol. The mixture is then distilled and “specific selections” collected for blending to achieve the desired flavor profile, a whisky that opens with a tart, crisp apple flavor, before moving on to notes of caramel and spice, towards a full-bodied finish.
Crown Royal Regal Apple is best served as a chilled shot on the rocks or in a cocktail. The bottle is packaged in an emerald green carton and retails for $24.99 CAD.
