Luxury French silverwork company Puiforcat launched a “Cognac Beaker”, a sterling silver receptacle lined on the interior with gold which turns red when splashed with the alcohol and preserves the aromas of the beverage.

The beaker’s shape, which is rounded and wide, has been designed to allow the drink’s flavors to circulate freely, and it rests upon a base which also doubles up as a lid.

The beaker, designed in partnership with École Boulle and student Léo Dubreil, is part of the brand’s new collection of tableware, which also comprises candlesticks and vases.

Established in 1820 in Paris, Puiforcat is known for its Art Deco pieces.

The Cognac beaker is available online, priced at €1,900.
