Paris Europe’s most visited city for first half of 2012

More than 42 million passengers arrived in Paris during the first six months of 2012, according to a report by Aeroport de Paris (ADP), the company in charge of operating the two international airports in Paris, Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly.
The two airports received a total of 42.8 million passengers during the first six months of the year, topping the list of the most transited airports in Europe.
They are followed by Heathrow in London with a total of 42 million passengers. Frankfurt airport came in third place with 27 million, Amsterdam fourth with 24 million, and Madrid Barajas fifth with 22 million.
The number of tourists from all regions visiting Paris increased over the first six months of 2012. Passengers from the Asia-Pacific region top the list with a growth of 6.5% compared to last year, followed by passengers from the Middle East with a growth of 5.9%, Latin America 4.8 percent and North America with 2.6%.
