Why October may be the best time to book a cruise
During the CLIA Cruise Week, consumers will be able to find discounts and take advantage of cabin upgrades, onboard spending credits & discounted excursions.
If you’re thinking about booking a cruise, this is the month to do it.
Because for one week, the world’s largest cruise industry trade organization, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is throwing a promotional campaign in collaboration with the biggest players in the industry that includes discounts of up to 30 percent on bookings.

During the CLIA Cruise Week, consumers will be able to find discounts, and take advantage of cabin upgrades, onboard spending credits, special airfares and discounted excursions on more than 200 of the world’s most popular cruise lines and river boats.
Participating cruise liners include Carnival Cruise Lines, Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean among others.
Some of the steepest discounts include Avalon River Cruises, which is slashing prices by up to $1,300 per couple for trips in Europe and 30 percent off bookings plus free gratuities on Princess Cruises.
Aside from the week-long promotional campaign, in general experts advise that cruise customers book up to five months in advance to take advantage of early-bird rates or, if flexible, look up last-minute deals.
